Medical degree form the University of Trondheim (1987), specialist in general practice (GP)/family medicine (1997), Ph.D. fellow.
Internship and GP in Bodø (1988-1991). Since 1991 GP and nursing home doctor in Mo i Rana, Nordland. In 1996 she worked one year in the geriatric department, Ullevål University Hospital, Oslo as part of her GP specialist training. Researcher in 50% position at Uni Research Health since 2012 with the Ph.D. project «Death in the nursing home – the patient’s wishes and the doctor’s role».
Fosse defended her thesis in 2018. Her dissertation was called: «Death in the nursing home – the patient’s wishes and the doctor’s role».
Fosse is participating in health politics and professional developement. She has worked with coordination of health services for many years. She is a member of the National Council for Priority setting in Health care.
