Work tasks and competence:

Main lab protocols: Genomic DNA extractions from tissues and sediments (manual and robot-handling), ancient DNA extractions from sediments, amplicon library preparation for high-throughput sequencing (dual-indexed pair-end amplicon libraries for Illumina), DNA-quantification methods (Qubit, nanodrop, fluorescence-nanodrop), quantitative-PCR (droplet digital PCR and qPCR), semi-quantitative PCR, primer and probe design, Sanger-sequencing and sequence analysis, cloning and preparation of cloning libraries, plasmid purifications, electrophoresis. 

Responsibility for daily procedures in the laboratory, maintenance needs for equipment and ordering of new equipment and materials, chemical registration in Eco online, chemical storage, protocol development and risk assessments, waste handling. Superuser of QiaSymphony DNA/RNA extraction robot (at CSAI) and droplet digital PCR system (at CSAI). 

Field work; harvest, sample-taking and experiments like mesocosms and controlled experiments.

Handling and reporting of data for publications, contribution to publications and seminars.

Experience from RNA extractions, cDNA synthesis, micro-injections, microscopy, protein-expression, cell lines and trangsenic zebrafish.

Main organisms: Microorganisms,Oikopleura, Ciona and mussels.
