Barents Sea Fault Geometric and Seismic Attribute is a research collaboration between Uni Research CIPR, University of Oslo and Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics (Russia). The project is sponsored by the NORRUSS and Petromaks2 programs at the Research Council of Norway and aims to:
- Improve existing methods used for fault identification and characterization in seismic volumes and provide new techniques for enhanced imaging of fault geometries in the Barents Sea.
- Integrate predominantly outcrop-based fault scaling studies with advanced seismic attribute fault imaging workflows to Improve the fault scaling relationships by filling the gaps (lacking outcrop data) from seismic investigations.
- Investigate the feasibility of creating new seismic attribute to estimate fault geometric attributes.
