About the project
STOPENTERICS is a European consortium which has received funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013).
STOPENTERICS aims to provide novel prophylactic solutions by imposing a two-fold paradigm switch in the development of vaccine candidates against Shigella and enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC):
- to break the dogma of serotype-specific protection and
- to improve the immunogenicity of some already identified antigens
The latter includes the heat-stable toxin (ST) of ETEC, which is the main target at Uni Research.
