About this person

Ivar Eimhjellen is a sociologist with a Ph.D from the University of Bergen in 2014. Eimhjellen has worked at the Uni Research Rokkan Centre since 2009, first as a research assistant, later as a doctoral candidate and now as senior researcher. During this period, he has also been affiliated with the Centre for research on civil society and voluntary sector. The subject of his dissertation was the use of web-technologies in voluntary organizations and for political participation. Eimhjellen has since been involved in research projects concerning social media, civil society, collective action, volunteering, integration and social entrepreneurship. Methodologically, he works with both qualitative and quantitative data. He has written journal articles, book chapters and reports based on his research.
