Sverre Litleskare graduated with a medical degree from the University of Bergen (UoB) in 2011. He was then an intern at Haukeland University Hospital and at Dalen Legesenter in Fyllingsdalen. After this he has been a part-time researcher at AFE, part-time specializing in family medicine. He is now working as a nursery home doctor 50% at Løvåsen Sykehjem. 

After first receiving a research grant from AFU, and then AMFF, he now holds a postion as a PhD candidate at the UoB, Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care. He is also still affiliated with AFE. His PhD project is a part of the larger Giardia project, and concerns complications after the Giardia outbreak in Bergen 2004. 

Sverre Litleskare tutors medical students at UoB in assessment of dementia in general practice, and in communication. 

His research interests include post-infectious conditions, gastrointestinal diseases, medically unexplained disorders and epidemiology.
